Friends Big Book Sale Weekend
Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18
10:00am - 3:00pm
Join us for this huge book sale weekend!  
We'll have both the Community Room and the Lower-Level Group Study Room open and filled with great finds for you. Come find some gently-used books, movies, and music for all ages at very reasonable prices.

Special Preview Sale 
exclusively for Friends Members:
Come on Thursday, April 16, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
and get first crack at the used books.  
Friends membership is $5 per individual per year, 
with discounts for Seniors and family groups, and can be purchased at the door.


Events and Programs
Join us for lively discussion in a friendly environment. Pick up a copy of the book at the Adult Reference Desk about a month before the meeting date. 
Our April title is
The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon. 

Tue, April 14, 6:00pm
This program will introduce how to grow, dry, and use herbs.  Discover both edible and drinkable uses of herbs, as well as the use of infused and essential oils in salves.

Join us for a fun craft (details to come)!  There's no cost for this program, and all supplies will be provided.  Check back soon or give us a call for details.

Teen Programs
Mon, Apr 6, 5:30pm
Love anime? So do we!  Join us as we explore the latest and greatest anime, thanks to Crunchyroll for donating our streaming anime service! Appropriate munchies will be served, so please register ahead of time.  Feel free to wear your favorite pair of fuzzy ears.

Sat, April 11,
2:00pm - 5:00pm
Drop in between 2 and 5pm and game with us.  We'll have some games on hand - learn something new!  Feel free to bring your own and introduce it to others.  We'll also have snacks and a stash of board game giveaways!

Mon, April 13,
6:00pm - 8:00pm
CubedHost is generously donating a Minecraft server for this drop-in event. We'll have (a limited number of) laptops and internet stations for you to use, or bring your own laptop.  You must have your own Minecraft account to participate.
Limited space! First come, first served!

Mon, Apr 20, 5:30pm
Pizza, pop, and a flick!  Please register if you'd like to partake of the munchies.  This month we'll be watching The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Thanks to Genisys Credit Union for sponsoring our movie license!

5:30pm - 8:00pm
These are open gaming nights.  We've got tables a-plenty and participation is always free.  Also, snacks are to be had.  Open to ages 10+.  We currently have groups dropping in to play the following:
Pokemon TCG
Magic: The Gathering TCG
Yu-Gi-Oh TCG

Tues, April 28, 
Noon - 8:00pm
Open gaming!  We've got tables and terrain a-plenty, so bring your armies and your sleevies and get some Waaaaugh going!
Free free free, of course, and we also have some paints available for to pretty up your boyz.  Open to teens and adults.


Wed, April 8, 1:00pm
Sir Wallace is missing!
Join us for a live version of the popular board game and help us figure out what happened to our favorite bear!
This is a family event best suited for ages 6-12 years, but all are welcome.
Orientation (and snacks) start at 1:00pm - be prompt or be a suspect!

Preschool Pages Storytime
Tuesdays at 10:30am:

Thursdays at 10:30am
April 16, 23, 30 and May 7
For ages 3-5 years.
All the early literacy skills are emphasized in this fun storytime as we talk, sing, read, write, and play!

Thurs, April 9, 11:30am
For ages 8 - 12.
Bring your lunch and join other home-schooled students for a book adventure. We'll play a game and discuss a different book each month.  You can pick up each book at the Youth desk.

For kids 7-12 years.
Drop in and explore the fun side of electricity by using snap circuits to launch a flying saucer, blow a horn, or power on a radio.
Saturday, April 11
Leave that pile of laundry where it is. Wash the car another day. Let the kids skip chores.  Sunday is Drop-Everything-and-Read Day!  Visit the library today to make sure everyone has something good to read.  Stop by the Youth Dept to make a bookmark in honor of the most productive lazy day your family will ever spend.

Learn and Grow Toddler Time
Mondays at 10:30am or 11:30am
April 13, 20, 27,
and May 4
For children 18-36 months old, plus an adult.
This storytime helps children with socialization, cognitive and large motor development.

Mon, Mar 23, 6:00pm
For ages 8 - 12.
Bring your dinner and join our book club!  This is a time to visit, get to know your mother/daughter better, and have fun with games and activities related to the book.  Books are available at the Youth Desk. 
Tuesday, April 21,
For kids 6-12 years.
Learn to be money savvy with games and lessons, and receive a free bank. Thanks to our partners from Genisys Credit Union and the Huron Valley Numismatic Society!
Wednesday, April 29,
1:30pm - 3:30pm
Experiment with more Snap Circuits!  No need to register.
