The Nutcracker Ballet
Wednesday, November 18, 6:30pm
Join us for a reading-and-ballet adaptation of the Nutcracker Ballet.  This program will be performed by the Modern Messages Dance Company and is suitable for all ages.  Children can have their pictures taken with the ballerinas after the performance.

The Library will be closed on the following days:

Join us for lively discussion in a friendly environment. Pick up a copy of the book at the Adult Reference Desk about a month before the meeting date. 
Our November 4 book, The Dinner, by Herman Koch, is available now.

Tues, Nov 17, 6:30pm
We'll craft with used books.  No cost.  All materials will be provided.  Please register for this program online or by calling 248-887-2218 (option 3).

Teen Programs

6:00pm - 8:00pm
CubedHost is generously donating a Minecraft server for this drop-in event. We'll have (a limited number of) laptops and internet stations for you to use, or bring your own laptop.  You must have your own Minecraft account to participate.
Limited space! First come, first served!

Monday, Nov 16, 5:30pm
Sit back and relax with a fun movie, smack dab in the middle of the hectic fall season.  We'll be watching
Inside Out this time around. Pizza and pop will be available for those clever enough to register ahead of time.

Sat, November 21,
1:00pm - 5:00pm
Stop by anytime this afternoon to be a part of International Games Day.  We'll be joining libraries from all over the world with some board games, card games, and electronic games (like International Minecraft Hunger Games).  You can feel free to bring your own favorite game and hang out with us!  We'll also have some snacks on hand to keep your strength up, and a RAFFLE.
No need to register - just drop in!

Tues, Nov 24, 
Noon - 8:00pm
Join us for more open gaming than you can shake a squig at.  We've got the terrain and tables. Bring your army, your dice, and may the crits go your way.  Newcomers always welcome. For teens and adults.

Monday, Nov 30, 5:30pm - 8:00pm
Pokemon, Magic: the Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh!  And others.  Grab your favorite TCG and battle it out with others of the same ilk.  Drop in, no need to register.

For parents and teachers of preschool-aged children.
Learn what Developmental Delay means, how to recognize it, and what you can do to help your child attain developmental milestones - before physical and school performance are affected.  Brought to us by Kids in Motion of Highland.

Learn & Grow Toddler Storytime
Mondays at 10:30am:
Nov 9, 16, 23, 30
For ages 18-36 months at time of registration.
Designed to help children with socialization, cognitive and large motor development.  Each child mus be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesdays at 10:30am: Nov 10, 17, 23,  and Dec 1 OR
Fridays at 10:30am:
Nov 13, 20, 27, and Dec 4 
For ages 3 - 5 years.
Every child ready to read!  This class emphasizes independence and reading-readiness. Children need to be able to sit and listen to stories on their own. Crafts and movement songs are included.

Ages 3 - 7 years.
Stories, games, and a craft to get you in the Thanksgiving Holiday spirit.  Pull out your gratitude attitude and join us for loads of fun!

Mon, Nov 16, 6:00pm
For ages 8 - 12 years.
Bring your dinner and enjoy visiting with others at this monthly club. Pick up the first book from the Youth Desk when you register.

Spelling Bee

The Knights of Columbus are happy to present their annual Spelling Bee!
This friendly competition is open to the community. Students in grades 
4-5-6 will compete together and students in grades 7-8-9 will compete together.  Each session will last approximately 2 hours.

Prizes will be awarded for top spellers!
