Robot in Four Days!

July 8 (mon) July 9 (tues),

July 11 (thu) & July 12 (Fri), starting at NOON

Kickoff your summer right by creating a LEGO Mindstorms robot. During this 4-day camp, participants will work in teams with mentors from the HOT Robotics team to design, build and program a robot. No prior experience necessary. Open to ages 9 to 14.

ESCAPE ROOM

July 8 through 13 (by group appointment)

Library Director Ursula Montalban, globe-trotting treasure hunter, is out of her clue-filled office for exactly one hour. Groups of 4 to 6 can work together to try searching for clues, cracking codes, and solving puzzles. Can you unlock the secret of Ursula's greatest treasure of her career?
For clever 8-year-olds to smarty-pants adults. Great for families and friends.

 

 

Tie Dye for Teens!

Tuesday, July 16, 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Tie Dye craft and summer - they go together like peanut butter and jelly. Bring a cotton t-shirt or other clothing item (no towels, bedsheets, bathrobes) and we'll dye until the dye runs out (or 7 pm).
Drop-in. No registration required.

 

 

Quidditch Match

Wednesday, July 17, 1:30pm (rescheduled from 6/28)

Learn how to play the game of Quidditch from Harry Potter. This muggle friendly version will be taught by members of the University of Michigan Quidditch team. Those who attend will compete in a Quidditch match following the lesson.

Galaxy in a Bottle Craft

Our galaxy is big. If you could ride a light beam from one side to the other, it would take 200,000 years to span the distance. Let's imagine we can smoosh that galaxy in a tiny bottle and carry it with us. Yeah. Let's do that!

A diverse group of teens looking for acceptance, with a desire to help those around them. We'll be having discussions on social issues, volunteering in the community, enjoying arts & crafts, and generally having a good time hanging out.
