Our CON is back, baby!

Get ready for a blockbuster day at the library on July 11th from 10am to 3pm! Join us for an all-ages, movie-themed convention packed with hands-on crafts, interactive activities, and cinematic fun around every corner. Come in costume if you’d like—or just bring your love of movies and get ready for a reel-y great time!

Balloon Twister

Balloon wrangler Gemma Marron will be onsite from 10am 2pm. Let Gemma transform ordinary balloons into extraordinary creations for you!

All City Dogs

Belly up to the All City Dogs truck between 11am and 2pm and treat yourself—juicy burgers and classic hot dogs will be hot, fresh, and ready when you are!

11am-3pm

Facepainter

Artist Russ Van Ness will be onsite from 11am–3pm. Unleash your imagination and let Russ transform you into the character of your dreams!
10am-1pm

Minecraft Hide and Seek

Jump into the action with Arrayscape Gaming as they host a fast-paced game of Minecraft hide-and-seek on their pro server! Sneak into the Minecraft room, test your skills, and see if you can out-hide or out-seek the competition.

Mary Moore

Meet a true trailblazer and take home a signed baseball card from a living legend! Mary played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League—yes, just like in A League of Their Own.

Whisper Booth

Share your love for the library—one whisper at a time. Step up to the mic and record a quiet message about what the library means to you. We’ll weave your words into a love letter video for posterity.

Make a Bug In Amber Nightlight!

Want to clone your own dinosaurs? Stay in school! In the meantime, make a simple and cool bug-in-amber nightlight. While supplies last, downstairs in Youth Dept.

Comfort Blanket Station

Stop by the Comfort Blanket Station and tie a couple knots on a special blanket. Comfort blankets are given to Michigan organ donor families to provide warmth and support during a difficult time. Gift of Life Michigan distributes these handmade blankets to grieving families, where they often become treasured keepsakes.
